Skill Builders increase success of youth with mental health needs in the community through individual services in the home or community. These weekly services will help overcome barriers in functioning and interpersonal relationships to decrease behavioral needs. This program is available through partnership with Monroe County Children’s Single Point of Accessibility (SPOA) and Monroe County Office of Mental Health.

Support Services

  • Provide individualized services to youth
  • Decrease youth and family stress
  • Build social and interpersonal skills
  • Develop and/or improve usage of coping skills
  • Increase daily living skills
  • Improve connections to community and informal supports

Population and Geographic Areas Served

Monroe County Skill Building serves youth in Monroe County who are under age 21 and demonstrate mental health-related functional limitations (severe emotional disturbance, significant mental health challenges, and/or complex mental health needs).
