Employment Services

Employment Services provides Prevocational and Supported Employment to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to assist in preparing for volunteering and worksite experiences, as well as obtaining and maintaining competitive and integrated employment.

Prevocational Services are pre-employment and/or job readiness activities specified in an person’s Life Plan and Prevocational Habilitation Plan/Staff Action Plan. These services are habilitative and prepare the individual for paid employment or meaningful community activities that enable a person to prepare to attain the highest level of community engagement in the most integrated setting with the ultimate goal of employment. Prevocational Services are delivered as Community-Based Services.

People will typically transition to Employment Services, such as Pathways, Inc., after they have received intensive supported employment services funded by the NYS Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) and require limited job coaching to successfully maintain their employment.
