Pay: $22.28 per hour!

Nature of Work: 

Responsible for the provision of casework services to individuals and/or their families including children to assist them with their social, emotional, economic and environmental difficulties.  This position is responsible for the provision and/or arrangement of an array of services including but not limited to individual and/or family counseling, parent education, crisis intervention, assessing the safety of children and families etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Good knowledge of the practices and procedures of social casework and of social factors affecting individuals and families; good knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques.
  • Good knowledge of the methods used in the development of case plans; working knowledge of the Federal, State and Local laws affecting the social casework program; working knowledge of social, health, vocational and other related agencies and programs in the area available for assistance and referral.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of persons, including clients, social workers, medical and legal professionals, government and law enforcement officials, and members of the general public.
  • Ability to assess clients’ needs and develop sound and effective plans to meet those needs; ability to deal with a wide variety of people with an extraordinary amount of tact and courtesy.
  • Ability to keep case records and prepare reports; ability to organized and plan work effectively; ready access to transportation to meet field work requirements; good powers of observation and analysis; initiative and resourcefulness; creativity and imagination; emotional maturity; good judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related Human Service field, with one year of direct experience working with high-risk youth and families.  
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets Pathways insurability guidelines to operate agency owned vehicles. 
  • Must meet the requirements of the School Age Care, Day Care, and/or Mental Health Regulations regarding a State Central Register Clearance regarding history of abuse/maltreatment of children.
